Hey! Want to learn some nerdy railroad history to impress your friends? Go to:
I saw this local for the first time the other day, (8/28/25), and I very much enjoyed it. I hadnt seen a Remote Control locomotive in operation before, so that was cool. Anyway, this train usually originates deep in the Buena Park industrial leads, but due to vandalism, its originating from Anaheim. I don't know if this is temporary, or if its permanent. Once leaving Anahiem around 430-500, they head up to Buena Park/La Mirada if they have work. Then, they go all the way down to western Garden Grove, to switch Goodwin Co, a chemical company. They get tank cars. Lots of tank cars. They can work there for as much as an hour. On that particular day we went, they experienced air/brake issues. Once done there, they head all the way down to the end of the Stanton Industrial Lead to Reliable Wholesale Lumber in Huntington Beach. Occasionally, they dont get cars though, and go right back after Goodwin Co. Switching at Reliable Wholesale Lumber usually goes pretty fast, around 20 minutes.
The Route:
LOA39R gets on duty around 500, leaving around 530. First, they go north on the Stanton Industrial Lead to do work around Buena Park/La Mirada. Then they back track, and pass Anahiem, and go down the Stanton Lead, and go down to Stanton, and switch Goodwin Co. This can take awhile.
The next and last industry is Reliable Whole Sale Lumber.
